PART P - INFORMATION

It has been put in place to increase safety legislations across England and Wales. People carrying out electrical work in homes and gardens in England and Wales must follow the rules set out in Part P of the Building Regulations to ensure that they are complying with the law. These rules are designed to ensure that electrical work is safe and require most electrical work in dwellings to be notified to the local authority building control.

In its early years, Part P has already been proven to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and fires caused by faulty electrical installations. It also goes a long way to prevent bad quality workmanship by ‘cowboys’, who may inadvertently leave electrical installations in an unsafe condition.

MVS Electrical Installations Ltd are completely Part P registered. We are able to self certify and notify work to relevant authorities. Electrical work that needs to be carried out should only be worked on by fully qualified and registered companies. Always ask about Part P whenever you need electrical work completed, no matter how small the job.

LIGHTNING

PROTECTION

We offer a complete Lightning Protection package for testing , certification, repair and additions for existing Lightning Protection systems. All Lightning Protection Systems and Static Earthing systems must be fully inspected and tested by a competent person using calibrated test equipment. This should be done when the installation is completed and on a regular basis thereafter.

We have Tested Many site across the U.K and our repeated clients have been more than happy with the service we provide. From 2006 EN 62305 replaced the BS 6651 (1999) Lightning Protection standard. However there are thousands of BS 6651 Lightning Protection systems installed throughout the UK, so if your Lightning Protection system was installed before 2006 the chances are that it will be of BS 6651 design.
